The Department of Engineering and Land Use is responsible for the administration and enforcement of all issues related to engineering, zoning, land use, economic development, and community development.
The Engineer Division’s responsibilities include the design and construction management for improvements to the City’s infrastructure and properties, including streets, parks, waterways, and sanitary and stormwater systems.
The Planning and Zoning Office reviews all applications for development to ensure they meet the requirements of the City’s Land Development Ordinance and the New Jersey State Municipal Land Use Law. This includes zoning permit applications and all applications submitted to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
