The City of Rahway is spreading the love this Valentine’s Day and we want to shout it from the rooftops on this special Valentine’s Edition of Rahway is at Work.
Rahway’s Recreation Department began planning Mayor Giacobbe’s Valentine’s Day initiative in December. This involved organizing two dozen restaurants that would prepare the meals as well as working with our Department of Public Works to coordinate deliveries to all who placed orders. In total, 300 meals will have been coordinated and delivered, completely free of charge to our Rahway seniors.
Mayor Raymond Giacobbe and the Rahway City Council, along with Recreation and Public Works staff teamed up to show our seniors that we care by personally delivering Valentine’s Day dinners, accompanied by a rose and special Valentine’s Day card from Mayor Giacobbe. Deliveries took place on Tuesday, February 8 and Thursday, February 10 and will continue this week on Tuesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 17 with additional personalized deliveries from Mayor Giacobbe and Rahway City Council members.
Rahway’s local restaurants also took part in spreading the love by offering menu items for the Valentine’s Day dinners. Seniors were able to choose options such as individual pizza, flautas, gyros, pasta, fish tacos, BBQ chicken, and much more!
