The City of Rahway Office of Emergency Management works closely with the State of New Jersey and Union County and holds the responsibility of comprehensively planning for and responding to all manners of disasters, whether man made or natural. The OEM also provides operations plans for large scale events and visiting dignitaries.

In light of the declared local state of emergency, all citizens and businesses within the City of Rahway are required to adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth in this declaration and any subsequent executive orders. This includes complying with evacuation orders where issued, observing any imposed curfews, and following specific directives related to safety and public order. Residents should remain alert to emergency notifications and updates, which will be provided through various communication channels. Businesses are urged to prioritize the safety of their employees and customers by adjusting operations as directed by emergency authorities. Your cooperation is vital to ensure the safety and well-being of the entire community during this emergency period. Emergency Notifications
The OEM is also using NIXLE communication to send important emergency notification directly to residents via text message. Messages may include weather reports, construction and road closure information, as well as relevant safety and community event information.
To enroll in the NIXLE communication system, please text 07065 to 888777.
